Full Radiology
Department
Radiology, known
most commonly as
“X-ray”, uses
electromagnetic
radiation to make
images of your
bones, teeth and
internal organs.
Simply put, X-rays
allow doctors to
make pictures of
some of the
structures inside of
your body.
X-ray is usually a
fast, simple,
painless medical
test that can help
your doctor provide
you with appropriate
treatment and is one
of the oldest forms
of medical imaging.
It is also a safe
way for your doctor
to view and assess
conditions ranging
from broken bones to
pneumonia to cancer.
There are many
different types of
X-rays and the type
your doctor uses
depends on the
purpose of the
examination and what
part of your body
needs examining.
CHEST X-RAY
The X-ray of the
chest area and lungs
will reveal certain
forms of lung
diseases such as,
emphysema,
pneumonia,
tuberculosis and
other possible
abnormalities. All
x-rays are reviewed
by our physicians as
well as a
radiologist.
BACK X-RAY
This group of three
x-rays will indicate
any birth defects of
the spine and reveal
any previous back
surgeries, fractures
or other
abnormalities.
The group of five
x-rays will perform
the same function as
the group of three
with the addition of
side views that are
able to discover any
congenital discovers
or diseases that
could restrict an
employee from
performing heavy
lifting or
straineous movement.
NOTE:
A
five view back x-ray
is only recommended
if there appears to
be abnormalities.
